A segunda jornada fechou e temos um novo líder dos Bitaites. Um espanhol que torce por Portugal, maior fa do Joselu, adepto da Académica e do Real Madrid e que já foi entrevistado para a Rádio Observador por se chamar Pepe, tal como o central da selecao das quinas. Deixo-vos uma pequena entrevista com o próprio:
Reporter: Líder isolado dos Bitaites ao final da segunda jornada da fase de grupos. Explica-me como te sentes. Já sonhas com a vitoria ou ainda tens os pés bem assentes na terra e sabes que isto pode virar a qualquer momento?
Jose: A sensação é muito boa! Mas para já mantemos os pés bem assentes no chão. O pelotão vem forte e a margem é curta. A terceira jornada da fase de grupos vem sempre carregada de surpresas e pode influenciar muitos pontos nos bitaites da fase a eliminar!
R: Tens tido bastante consistência desde que assumiste a liderança. Sentes que podes continuar este caminho e liderar no final da fase grupos?
J: Estou confiante nos meus bitaites para a terceira jornada, mas com medo de potenciais surpresas nos confrontos dos grupos B, D e E. Não mudava a previsão de empate para o Itália-Croácia. A previsão de vitória para a França também me parece bem ajustada, dada a importância política de uma vitória que assegure a continuidade dos bleus. O grupo E é uma dor de cabeça, com o meu bitaite de empate para as duas partidas e as 4 equipas igualadas a 3 pontos.
R: Colocaste Portugal como vencedor contra a França na final. Sentes que o teu Bitaite ainda é bastante válido ou alterarias alguma coisa?
J: Mantenho Portugal como favorito, mas com reservas quanto a um provável embate contra Espanha nas meias-finais. Muito boas sensações de La Roja nestes dois primeiros jogos. Seria interessante se o Martinez pegasse no Leão e lhe mostrasse uns vídeos do Nico Williams. Precisamos dessa garra para dar mais uma dose de Éder aos Franceses!
R: Por último, fala-me um pouco do que te surpreendeu até aqui em termos de seleções e também desilusões que tenhas tido durante o Europeu.
J: Inglaterra muito fraquinha para quem vinha com o saco cheio de favoritismo. Bélgica no mesmo barco, movido a motor Romeno. Muito surpreendido pela seleção espanhola, após o banho de bola à Itália. Cucurella em modo Roberto Carlos, mas com um bocadinho mais de cabelo. E finalmente a grande derrota das primeiras duas jornadas do Euro: a filosofia de Pep Guardiola. Já vale bujas de fora da área e finalmente podemos assistir a jogos depois de almoçar sem sucumbir a uma siesta guardiolista!

The second round of the group phase has come to an end, and we have a new leader in the Bitaites. A Spaniard who cheers for Portugal, biggest fan of Joselu, supports Académica and Real Madrid, and has been interviewed by Rádio Observador because his name is Pepe, just like the center-back of the Portuguese national team. Here’s a brief interview with him:
Reporter: You are the sole leader of the Bitaites at the end of the second round of the group stage. Tell me how you feel. Are you already dreaming of victory, or are you still holding expectations and aware that this can turn at any moment?
Jose: The feeling is very good! But for now, we remain firmly with low expectations. The pack is strong, and the margin is short. The third round of the group stage is always full of surprises and can influence many points in the knockout stage!
R: You have been quite consistent since you took the lead. Do you feel you can continue this path and lead at the end of the group stage?
J: I am confident in my predictions for the third round, but wary of potential surprises in the matches of groups B, D, and E. I wouldn't change my prediction of a draw for the Italy-Croatia game. The prediction of a win for France also seems well-adjusted, given the political importance of a victory that ensures the continuity of the Bleus. Group E is a headache, with my prediction of a draw for both matches and all 4 teams tied at 3 points.
R: You placed Portugal as the winner against France in the final. Do you still feel your prediction is valid, or would you change anything?
J: I still see Portugal as the favorite, but with reservations about a likely clash against Spain in the semi-finals. Very good feelings about La Roja in these first two games. It would be interesting if Martinez takes Leão and shows him some videos of Nico Williams. We need that spirit to give the French another dose of Éder!
R: Lastly, tell me a bit about what has surprised you so far in terms of teams and also any disappointments you’ve had during the Euro.
J: England has been very weak for a team that came in full of favouritism. Belgium is in the same boat, powered by a Romanian engine. Very surprised by the Spanish team after their football lesson to Italy. Cucurella is in Roberto Carlos mode, but with a bit more hair. And finally, the biggest defeat of the first two rounds of the Euro: Pep Guardiola's philosophy. Long shots are now valid, and we can finally watch games after lunch without succumbing to a Guardiola siesta!
